I try to stay away from labels, even that of the ‘artist’, at least mentally. I believe labels push me into boxes to fit in, into what is established, to conform, the opposite of what I want to do. The opposite of what I am.
Labels define and thus impose limitations because they create an “inside” and an “outside”, an “in” and an “out”. If I put a definition on what I do, then what I do has to happen either within the definition or outside of it. And these boundaries set by definitions become obstacles that I have to overcome. And they needn’t be there.
It is futile, a waste of energy to battle boundaries set by definitions created solely in the mind or in minds collectively, because we humans need to define everything to make sense of everything because we cannot bear living with the unexplained. In reality, definitions do not exist. They are a waste of time.
